Recovery Resources

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Humboldt County Office of Economic Development has focused its efforts on assisting small businesses survive and recover. Programs and resources listed here target that objective, along with providing information from related sources that can be helpful to business operations and customers. Business owners who submitted a reopening plan under the former system are not required to complete the training. Please check back frequently for current information and new funding opportunities.

Business Reopening Certification

Businesses looking to reopen under the current tier are required to view an instructional video and pass a short quiz confirming knowledge of COVID-19 safety procedures and limitations. Upon passing, the business will be provided with a certificate to post in their windowfront. This procedure replaces the former process of creating your own business plan. Access the video now to begin your certification process.

Event Certification

Humboldt County is no longer certifying events. California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has developed extensive guidance that can be found on their website through the following link. These guidelines help events and businesses to support a safe, clean, and low-risk environment. For questions on planning COVID safe events within your specific jurisdiction, please see CDPH guidance and contact your local jurisdiction with questions.
